Altom Transport, a family-owned company specializing in the safe and efficient transport of bulk liquid chemicals and petroleum products, is seeking an Owner Operator Driver for its Chicago, IL terminal. As an essential partner in our operations, your responsibilities will not only encompass driving but also include equipment maintenance, product loading and unloading, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, providing excellent customer service, and managing business aspects like fuel purchases and trip planning. You will also be expected to be available 24/7 when needed. We offer two driving options: Regional Driver (Home every few days with 3–5 days out at a time) and Over-the-Road (OTR) Driver (Gone for 7+ days at a time, ideal for drivers who enjoy long-haul travel and maximizing mileage and income).

Requirements:

Minimum 1-year of verifiable tanker driving experience

At least 23 years of age

Valid CDL Class A License

Endorsements: Tanker (N) – Required, Hazmat (H) – Preferred (must obtain within 90 days of hire; assistance available), TWIC Card – Preferred (must obtain after hire)

Equipment: Late model that meets Altom’s inspection standards

Able to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check

Safety-minded, dependable, and capable of working independently

Strong safety record and clean MVR

Willingness to work flexible schedules, including 24/7 operations when needed
